Askersund welcomes visitors all the year round. But in the summer the town revives and boats as well as people are seen in the harbour.

The narrow cobble- stoned streets, lovely old houses and backyards create a nice and cosy atmosphere. The town is often called the Traditional Jazztown. A traditional jazz festival has been arranged for the last 25 years.
