The archipelago is an interior archipelago with more than fifty islands and thousands of rocks, straits and bays. Here you´ll find rough-hewn rocks, rounded granite flat rocks and windbitten pinewoods in colourful contrast to the bright bluegreen water of the lake. Here grand birds of prey as ospreys and hobbies feel at home.If you have a boat in Vättern there shouldn´t be any problem to visit the recreation ground. You´ll find it along the navigable channel towards Askersund. The distance at sea between the town and the central parts of the recreation ground is slightly more than 10 kilometers. There are harbours for small boats in Bastedalen, Grönebacke and Olshammar.
From Askersund you can go by boat during the summer through the recreation ground. Then you can experience a lot of the beauty in the archipelago.
